A day trip to Helsinki, Finland, from Tallinn, Estonia. It’s a 2-3-hour ride across the Gulf of Finland with Tallink’s luxurious ferries — Shuttle Star and Baltic Princess.

While in Helsinki, we managed a trip to Suomenlinna Island, where an 18th century sea fortress was built by the Swedes to counter Russian maritime power. A UNESCO World Heritage Site for unique military architecture.
