Helsinki and the Suomenlinna-Sveaborg Sea Fortress

Finland > Helsinki

10 April 2012

A day trip to Helsinki, Finland, from Tallinn, Estonia. It’s a 2-3-hour ride across the Gulf of Finland with Tallink’s luxurious ferries — Shuttle Star and Baltic Princess.

Please view the slideshow, best in HD 720p.

While in Helsinki, we managed a trip to Suomenlinna Island, where an 18th century sea fortress was built by the Swedes to counter Russian maritime power. A UNESCO World Heritage Site for unique military architecture.

The slideshow is below, best viewed in HD 720p.

THANKS!

  1. Suomenlinna is nice place to visit.I have recorded a video from suomenlinna in winter. It’s really beautiful with the snow and everything.Ii really recommend visiting Suomenlinna Fort if you are visiting Helsinki. I used my go pro camera to record footage so sorry for not perfect quality.
