Thanks, Jam. The Lao Kip has been pretty stable vis-a-vis USD, at about 8500kips/USD. I reckon it’s almost at par with the Indonesian Rupiah now. So about 2,500kips for every RM.

Thanks, Patchett. In LP we stayed at the New Daraphet Villa, at US$30 for double. As for Lao Airlines, try to fly with their ATR72 – new plane and more comfy.

Thanks. Robo. I did bring my GPS – my N79 Nokia smartphone! Good enough for orientation. Otherwise I just carry the paper map. And yes, there’s roaming in Laos, but at a premium as usual.
